We had power this morning, but apparently it went out and came back on a few minutes before I got home, there must have been a power surge that cooked my microwave and coffee pot, really smells like burning wires in house, very bad, i believe it cooked the circuit board on my G200 also, the board lights up but override button does not work. Pulled bypass lever and blower doesn't come on either. Ideas?

By lighting up Dp you mean it shows #'s or just lights up?
Doesn't sound good...
-
Check the fuses on the boiler, but I agree with yonder, if the controller is lit up but nothing else it doesn't sound good.
-
Controller is lit up, switches to water/ air damper function, but fan doesn't come on when override is pressed and bypass is pulled, water temp down to 87 and low water temp light not flashing
-
Did you try turning off power to it for a minute or so?
-
Blown fuse.
-
Whew! :D
-
Not out of the woods yet, think my zone pumps and controllers got cooled also
-
Yup need to replace all my controllers, at least there is heat in the house.
-
Did the furnace controller come back on with the new fuse?
-
Do yourself a favor, when you replace the zone control then think about how many zones you will want with that new oil boiler and manifold we spoke about!
Does your zone controller have a transformer and fuses, it may just be a transformer you know!

Yep, power surges can do weird things.
Lighting is even stranger. Had a strike on a tree in the windbreak, lighting got the dish, cooked the receiver and VCR (was a long time ago) but the surround sound and TV were fine.
Have seriously considered adding surge protectors right to the breaker box, but those get mixed reviews at best.
