Title: Boiler treatment and re-start
Post by: MD20/20 on November 06, 2018, 07:27:30 AM
My 325G has been sitting idle with no water in it for the last 2 years, but I’m ready to restart it.
I need to buy treatment for the water and curious if I need to prep boiler with anything since it been sitting so long?

You're probably going to want to flush it before you dump the treatment in, as there is likely a hefty layer of rust inside by now. I like to dump a packet or 2 of TSP (TriSodium Phosphate, couple bucks at HD) in with straight water and circulate for 24 hours, dump, flush with fresh water, and repeat until the water runs clean before adding treatment.

Try prep solution 102 and then treatment 101 from wood boiler solutions llc.
