doing a self a\c install \ I have a water to air heat exchanger in oil furnace how close can I put a coil above heat exchanger
-
I don't know the answer to your situation exactly, but on my propane furnace, the AC coil box is directly on top of the furnace and then my water/air heat exchanger is right on top of that with no spacer.

I would suggest either leaving some space, or leaving an easy way to gain access to both exchangers to clean the dust off each one with a shop vac.

ok thanks for info plan on leaving coil 8-10 inches from rad

Keeping the filters in place should keep the coils from getting lint buildup. Doesn't always happen though, I've seen some cruddy ones with a felt like layer of lint and hair. My guess was years with no filter.
I don't really have a specific distance I try to keep the coil above an air handler, I just try to think how the airflow spreads out in a duct, too close too a fan and it blows through one part of the coil which reduces air temp.
