Still getting 12-hour burn-times, but the fans on my furnaces run dam near all the time. It' not suppost to get above 13 degrees today so i raised boiler temp to 185. I had been running at 175. That should help!!!

Last month i called my local electric company supplier. They told me that throwing the main breaker was enough-but they would like me to pull the ele. meter also. I guess as a double block. He gave me instruction on pulling meter and said to just give them a call and they'd come and reinstall.

« on: January 02, 2009, 07:49:54 PM »
Yes, u are correct.. I have two pumps at the cb5036 feeding two exchangers at two water heaters then to furnace exchangers. I'm wanting to increase (by adding a pump) domestic hot water flow through the exchanger.  thanks

Central Boiler / Heat Exchanger Pump??
« on: December 31, 2008, 06:37:35 PM »
I have the flat plate exchanger on my water heaters..  Wondering if anyone thought about or had  ideals on putting a recirculation pump next to the inlet of the exchanger.  Thought it might enable the water heater to keep up with hot water usage. ???

It should not creating any steam. I have no ideal what noise you'd hear from the roof. Make sure your plastic/metal fill cap is not to tight.??? Really don't know.. mine's quiet after damper's closed..

Central Boiler / Re: Newbie Questions
« on: December 22, 2008, 11:40:15 AM »
First day firing my boiler, i used very dry- small split pieces, no rounds. Continued this till a hot coal bed had developed. Then was able to burn full size split or unsplit wood. Boiler temp will fall to @10 degrees below setpoint before damper opens. With a good hot coal/ash bed in boiler u should have no problems.. good luck!! keep us informed..

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Extra hot water??
« on: December 09, 2008, 08:16:35 PM »
Wondering if anyone has added extra hot water storage to their hot potable water. I have a CB 5036, two furnaces, two water heaters. Thinking of adding a storage tank(50gl with heat exchenger) feeding my 40 gl. water heater(that's already has 6-flatplate exchanger). I am want to add more storage to keep the Propane from coming on..Any Ideals welcome!! thanks!!!    jon
