General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Still burning!

What is a HF 60 and who makes it?
I just did a search and found a thread on here about them. Looks like they were made by CB. Similar to a classic. I run a 5036 with a very well insulated house and get 24-36 hour burn times. I can not imagine how a fire would burn for four days. Hell, I would forget to load the damn thing.

I was wondering if someone was eating dream sickles to be able to heat a 5200 sq. ft. house and only have to load it every 4 days or if it took a BIG truck load to fill it. LOL

I would be tempted to try and jack it up with a cheap harbor freight jack,

or an old style bumper jack

It is kinda of hard to tell how far off it is with the form being off that much. I would take the form off and check with a 4 foot level to see how much it is and if less than 1 inch in that 4 foot I would not worry about it to much but keep an eye on it. If more than an inch dig to the bottom of the low side of the concrete and jack it up and tamp sand under it.

Can you dig around the slab and jack it up and fill under it with sand? Pictures may help with ideas.

Your welcome Jarrod, these things are not to complicated and you don't have to use Hardy brand parts. I have heard that Granger carries anything you need but you can get about anything online that you may need.

Jarrod, I got a used H2 also and had the same issue. I took the outer skin off and unbolted the top (about 30 screws or so) and found that the coil inside (60 feet of 3/4 inch copper) had been frozen and burst. I soldered mine and it works fine now and was not that big of a job. You can cap the outlets and get a 20 plate water to water heat exchanger for your hot water and not use the inside coil if that is easier.

How thick is the metal on this stove? What did the dealer say about this? Are they going to cover it?

Sounds like you are set for firewood for a while.

I keep my garage at 50 and have turned it up to 70 but that is to warm for me when I am working. I got my heat ex. from  ebay, there is a link on here somewhere.

I gutted an old gas furnace and  put a heat exchanger in it, wired the blower to an electric base board thermostat and heat my 30 by 60 insulated garage.

I think one of our member dealers (or maybe more) can beat that price for you on the brand they carry. I made my own but that was before I saw the prices that were mentioned on here and it cost me about the same to do it myself for a lesser quality pipe.
(just my 2 cents)

Looks like you framed around it using treated lumber. Using that frame to suport the insulation then attached metal to that frame also. very nice going to have to try this one myself.

That is what I did, my next mod is to put a new chimney on it and drop it down into the firebox a few inches so the heat can't go straight out the top.
