So how has she been running?

Any chance you have "plans" you worked to?  I bet you could sell them!

I'd suck it up and buy the new E2400 with a full warranty.. Had mine now for 2 winters and it's ran perfect.  Easy maintenance and stingy on wood. They've already added many new features that mine doesnt' have, that look like great ideas to make maintenance even easier.

Can you elaborate on the added features?

The Warranty does not transfer has to be cheap

How cheap?

If your mind is set on a boiler by CB, I'd DEFINATELY go with the 2400. Do a google search on the 2300. Their long term reliability is questionable at best. The 2400 has received very favorable reviews so far.

I'm not "set" on a CB.  I am also considering the Portage and Main.  Anything else I should be considering?

Central Boiler / Looking for an OWB: Used E-Classic 2300 or New 2400?
« on: August 23, 2012, 02:42:36 PM »
I am looking to install an OWB for some much needed relief on the oil heating bill.  My town prefers that I install a gassifier, and the wood savings look/sound great to me.

I did some poking around, and I found a used 2300.  The seller is a CB dealer and he used the boiler as a demo model/for heat at his facility.  He is upgrading since he needs to show off the latest and greatest.

What is a used 2300 worth?  No warranty transfers.  This one has the propane ignition.

Am I better off sucking it up and spending the extra for a brand new 2400?
