Electronics / Help me build a timer...please!

This is a little unrelated but I want to build a controler for the auger on my pellet stove. I want to make one thats adjustable, I'll give you an example. Lets say I want my auger to come on every minute for 6 seconds but want to be able to adjust both times with trim pots, dials or even digital. I am going to intagrate it with the exsiting controls so that all the factory safetys still work. Any help would be great, thanks.
