I live in Indiana and didn't think they had passed any laws yet regarding outdoor wood furnaces. I've been wanting to get one installed for my home to cut down on the heating bill. I'm looking for dealers now and will talk to them about my options.

I just replaced my starter capacitor on my blower. I had the old one tested and it was registering a little low. They're pretty cheap parts and easy to replace. Have you tried covering the electronics on it to keep any creosote from building up on them?

I do like that setup Treewinder. When I finally decide which one to install, I've thought about putting some type of covered walkway to the furnace. Or even one that I could cover in the winter to keep the winds from hitting me.

How well do those creosote cleaning logs work? I've seen them in stores like Walmart. Are they the same as the creosote tabs?

I'm a newbie to OWBs and OWFs too and luckily found this site. It seems like there are so many models to choose from. As far as servicing and warranties, would it be best to buy an OWB or OWF that have a local dealer in case something breaks or goes wrong?
