Central Boiler / Powder additives
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:21:57 AM »
Who uses ash troll? I’ve been hearing I can buy some stuff at the local feed mill like powdered lime to sprinkle in the fire box to help keep the crap off the sides and top of the burn box. So what is everyone been using? I have been using ash troll every other day one scoop

« on: October 26, 2012, 04:56:32 PM »the G wire is for the fan. (Y is the compressor)
You need to remove the wire on thermostat A and leave it empty. Run the wire you took off the G terminal on thermostat A and run it to the W on thermostat B Then add a wire onto RH (leave original wire on this terminal too) of thermostat A and run it to RH on thermostat B.
Or you can just disconnect the wire from the Y terminal but then your AC won't work anymore.
I just took the wire from G on the old stat and ran it into the w on the new one.. do I still need to disconnect the yellow on the old one... ?

Plumbing / Re: filter for debris?
« on: October 16, 2012, 01:19:01 PM »
Ill take some pictures of the filter I used on my OWB. I bought my unit used. I wanted to make sure the thing didn't have a ton of scale in it so I purchased some sluge removal stuff from CB along with their chemicals and ran it for 3 days just out and back in the return... It worked out good. I used a bore scope to check out the walls before I filled it back up and started using it..
Oh it was a water filter for a drinking fountain with 3/4 inlet and outlets

Central Boiler / Re: 6048 Settings ??
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:58:42 AM »
I called CB, the setting on the inside of the pump panel is a max only setting. the defult is 10 degrees lower from that setting... for the air dampner to open and close.. I thought you had to program the low setting as well.
Now I know...

Central Boiler / 6048 Settings ??
« on: October 15, 2012, 07:04:34 AM »
I just fired up the stove for the first time
I have yet to add another thermostat to control the fan (using the orginal for now) I have a quick question to ask.
I dont have a manual for my stove, I've ordered one but waiting. How do you chenge the settings on the stove ? I pressed the set button on the display and pu came up I changed the temp to 180 deg then pressed st again. does this mean the damper will close when the water gets to that temp ? if so at what point does the damper open once the temp starts to fall off. and how is this set ?

Plumbing / Re: plumbing a braze plate into domestic hot water
« on: September 27, 2012, 12:18:58 PM »
If I hook this in before the hot water heater ... this would make the water coming out of it about 170 deg.. how does the tempering valve come into play ?

With out a picture or diagram Im having a tough time figuring this out ... Do I need to connect to the bottom of the water heater ? or just run the house supply side (cold) going to the water heater thru the plate and exiting the plate to the supply on the water heater (cold)... then the tempering valve between the hot side of the water heater (exiting) and the cold supply from the house before it gets into the plate heater ...
I didn't think I was this
to plumbing but I guess so
