General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Will I burn less wood if I dont run my circ pump 24/7

I have two problems I need help with. I was wondering if I would burn less wood if I wired my pump to shut off when my house gets warm, because as of rate now it justs says on. And Ive noticed that its hard to keep my owb at the right temp and was wondering if thats because the pump runs continuously?  Thanks
