This morning everything is burning great.
My wood is a little green.  We only installed the OWF in Oct. and didn't have any wood.  Started cutting the week prior to the install.   A friend up the road logged 10 acres about 1 1/2 years ago.  I can cut anything on the ground for free.  Lots of tops that are still 18 inches in diamater.  I dont know the moisture content of this wood.  It is a little seasoned but not like have it splitt for a year.
The temp is set at 170 degrees.
I will try the keeping the door open to get a roaring fire to clean it out.
I am pretty sure my problem was wet wood from three days of rain and outsides temps in the 70s for a week.  The OWF never had to fire a lot to keep the temp at 170.

I am a new OWF burner.  Two months.  We had really unseasonable weather last week.  Highs in the 70s.  Lows  in the 40s.  Sunday it started getting cold.  Since Sunday afternoon my blower has been on all the time.  I could not figure out why.  With the door open I got a good flame and burn.  Close the door it smoldered.  Cleaned the ashes, tryed different wood, left the ash door open.  You name it I tryed it.  This morning I woke up thinking about it.  Well I got the ladder out and pulled my flu extention off and found the problem.  I had about three inces of creasote almost completely blocking the flu extention and at the bottom where the fire box is.  Cleaned it all out and my water temp went up almost 20 degrees in 30 minutes.
Problem solved.

Plumbing / Heating tile

Can I plumb some type of tubing and attach it to the subfloor and put some insullation where we have tile.  We installed out OWF a little more than a month ago and love it.  I didn't think about asking about this type of installation at that time.

The dealer has a couple of crews that install for him. On the initial install an electrican-plumber, and two helpers came out.  It took them about 7 hours to do the installation.  The dealer then came out and showed me how everything worked.  After having only warm water for two days he brought the plumber back. We have two hot 40 gallon water heaters in series.  The hot water from the heat exchanger was going to a tee on a pvc pipe that ran in between both water heaters.  He moved that pvc pipe to the first water heater and that heater feeds the other heater.  Now we have unlimited hot water.

Natures Comfort / New NCB 250

Had an NCB 250 installed two weeks ago with hot water plate heat exchanger.  Our house was always cold in the wintner, and my wife freezes.  Now she has been complaining that it was to hot.  Got the thermostat set at 74.  We had a problem for about a week with the hot water.  The water never seemed to get hot.  We called the dealer about the problem.  He called back the next day and said he had been thinking about the issue.  He brought the plumber back the next day and moved a pipe.  Now we have very hot water and it never ends.  We love it.
It took me over a week of putting wood in to figure out how and where to place it so it burns completely.  Only filling it up twice a day now, and about over just going to check on it every hour to see what its doing.
We had no wood when we installed it.  A neighbor up the road logged about 10 acres over a year ago.  We have been cutting up all the tops left.  Not alot to split.  I think we have over a months supply stacked and lots more that I need to go cut up.
I don't know why we didn't put one in years ago.
