I'm going pull it with my chevy tahoe or my john derre tractor. I took it to woods today I'd say we have. Four ricks on it with room for more.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Owb working fine.. Should I make changes
« on: December 16, 2013, 04:36:22 PM »
Wow...I hope you have a spare blower motor ready. I'd be looking real hard at my insulation in the house. I can't image running the blower that much. Mine run maybe twice a hour for about for minutes a cycle. I also have 24 inches of fiberglass in my attic. Also have r-30 in the walls. My homemade boiler is set at 160 and I load it once every 24 hours. I'm burning some really green wood right now. I absolutely love my boiler..my propane dealer on the other hand hates it...lol

I love the money its saving me !! when I build the next one I will put a grate in the bottom of the firebox. this one doesn't have one and its kinda a pain to get the ashes out. its not to bad though I can deal with that.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / burn times and water. temps for dhw
« on: September 30, 2013, 08:23:14 PM »
So I've had my homemade stove going for a week now I wish I had this years ago..I've got it set at 160 off & 150 on. Is that a good temp for dhw with a twenty plate ? Also I'm getting 24 to 30 hours between loadings between with just four to six medium size pieces of soft maple. I'm very happy with the performance of my unit. Very curious to see how it does when it heats cold out with more load .
