Hi OWF,

We bought our new place in December and made it through 1 season of heating with our Wood Doctor outdoor furnace.  So far so good.  I was going to drain, refill and treat this weekend but I took a sample out of the boiler and I'm suspicious.  We were under the impression it was filled with water but the previous owner left NOTHING for us to go on, wasn't available for questions after the sale so we're really flying blind on the internet!

I tested the pH and it came out 8.5+.  The liquid is VERY clear and a pale yellow.  I've tried to attach a photo of the sample.

Any ideas?  If it is antifreeze, what do I need to do for maintenance/treatment?

Thanks.

Doug
