I pushed it and it clicked. Should it click? Is there just one located on the top element? 50gal tank

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Shut down the boiler =NO HOT WATER
« on: May 03, 2015, 03:51:31 PM »
Hello,
I shut my boiler down Saturday morning and now I'm without hot water. I'm not sure what's going on. I closed the valve that usually brings the boiler water to the hot water tank. The breaker is on. I even kicked it off and back on to verify. Anyone else have this issue?

I am affraid that my fire will go out so I've been loading every 12 hours. I have a bed of coals that is about 8 inches deep with some charred wood on top. I can easily fit a lot of wood in. Should I let this burn down more? Or is loading it ok?
Thanks fellas
Thanks fellas

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Farm house high heat loss
« on: January 06, 2015, 08:16:16 AM »
Hello,
Does anyone have any tips for an old farm house with high heat loss. I have 10 ft ceilings so I think that's part of my issue, but it seems my fan has to run constantly to keep the temp at 72-74. Exterior walls are not cold to touch and I have all new windows....
I am not sure where to look or start to seal this old place up

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / All electric house. Thoughts?
« on: January 05, 2015, 03:00:41 PM »
Hello all. First post long time lurker. I have finally installed an outdoor wood stove in my home. It's fantastic. Being warm is great lol. Anyway. Does anyone else have an all electric house with forced air heat? If so, what kind of electric bills did you see after the boiler was up and running? I have a central boiler classic 6048.
Thanks
