Second winter with my 28-40.
Low maintenance and just feed it every 12 hrs.
Brian at P and M has been very help full. I'm glad with the choice I made.

Good question. This is my first shut down also. I'm gonna try anything that makes it easy. I'm open for any suggestions.
I'm gonna run my pump an hour once a week.

How many of you out there have your stove grounded to a grounding rod?
It's the my first winter with the 2840 and looking over my owners manuel I see there is a bolt on the tank to ground it. For some reason I can't find it on mine.

I got the 28-40 with the shaker grate. This time of year I'm burning locust and hickory.
I shake the grate and shovel out some ashes once a week. I try to leave as many coals in there as i can. Getting good 12hr burns.

Hello all. New to this forum.
Is it possible to put too much wood in a BL 2840?
First winter with this stove. Couldn't be working better. Just want to cover all the bases. Thanks!
