hardy clean out?
« on: December 03, 2012, 07:15:03 PM »

Well I just came in from filling up my stove and I noticed a bunch if sparks coming out of the stack so I pulled of the stack and cleaned it.  It had some build up but not too bad. Any suggestions as to why so many sparks. Also which rain cap should I put on it I want to keep sparks from catching anything on fire. Also what is a good product to clean the stainless with. Any tips on this and keeping it clean will help. Thank you

Mine will throw sparks sometimes after I fill it too.  I think that's just what the Hardy's do.  I can't comment on the other topics as I don't clean my hardy or have a rain cap.

You don't clean it in the off season? Not a big deal really I might just have pcs the last few days has been a muddy mess around mine we have had nonstop rain I wish I would have covered my stacks up with this warmer weather and the wet wood makes burning tough. Ill clean it good this spring hopefully
