Let me start by saying that I am new to the forum and new to the world of the OWB as well. The stove is now set, the pipe is run, and I have plumbed the hot water circulation pump. Where I am struggling is with the wiring. I am using a White-Rodgers strap on thermostat and a Grundfos circulation pump. I was told to use a 14-2 wire (with 3 wires in total) to wire both the thermostat and the pump. So I was told to go from the junction box to the thermostat. The thermostat has only 3 screws labeled red (common), blue (open on rise of temp), and White (close on rise of temp). I then need to go to the pump which has 3 small tabs in which the wires will be inserted. they are labeled N, L, and ground . So my question is how the heck do I wire this thing? any help would be appreciated!

Run the wire to the aquastat and connect only the black wire to the common. Then the black wire going to the pump will need to connect to one of the others depending on what the purpose of the aquastat is.
If there is a ground connection at the aquastat, connect both grounds to it. Otherwise just wirenut them together. Also wire nut the whites together.
At the pump put black in L, white in N and the bare wire in ground.

This is absolutely correct, but to maybe draw the big picture, what you are doing is running the wire from power to the aquastat and then on to the pump.  The aquastat simply interrupts the black wire which is the "hot" wire.  The rest of the wires are unaffected.  If there is a chassis(ground connection) on the aquastat you should hook that up to the bare wire.  This is just a safety to keep the metal from ever becoming "hot".

The pump does not stay on 24/7?

Sorry for the delay in reply, and thanks to everyone who has helped me so far. So.... The pump, in theory, should not run all the time, as I do not want my hot water to be 180 degrees. However, I wired the thermostat and pump just as stated, but when I use the close on rise of temperature terminal, I do not have enough power to run the pump, NO MATTER where I set the thermostat. It does light up my tester, but will not run the pump. However, if I switch to the Open on rise of temperature terminal, I have power, and the pump runs, but this seems like it will never shut off this way... any suggestions? worst case scenario, how bad would it be to have the pump run continuously? I am open to suggestions, as I am quickly becoming frustrated.... lol

I run my circ pump 24/7.I read somewhere its better for them to run all the time then on and off.My themostat controls the draft blower only.Hopefully i read your post right its been along day  .My hot water is 115 with my boiler set at 160 Through a  10 plate heat exchanger.115 is hotter than my electric heater would put out

Can you post a picture of the connections and show which you are connecting to?
