Sorry I am a huge tree hugger, recycler non GMO eating mofo and I don't care who says it, there is no way burning oil or natural gas is better, maybe if you look at one thing, but look at all the resources we put into getting and transporting these other fuels. And most wood burners I know care for and have more respect for the environment then some of these yahoos claiming crap.

Johnyb - I posted the same link on a different site and someone was wondering which is worse, logging or plowing large areas of field every year for farming.  I have never seen a comparative study of the two.  I doubt we will ever see one.   They may not like the answers they get.

My dad raised me to be very respectful of the environment.  You take care of it, it will take care of you.  All our gardening was done organically and no chemicals ever went on the plants or in the ground.  Saying that, we've been burning wood for as long as I can remember.

How'd your 1400 hold up this past winter?  Mine did great.  So far, I can't be happier with it.  Roger

So' maybe i'm just not getting the picture and if so I apoligize. Are they trying (with their infinate wisdom ) to tell us that somehow when we kill a tree and drag it to the landing we are releasing more carbon than if we left the trees alone to rot on their own and drilled for more oil instead that somehow this will reduce our carbon footprint. I would like to know who is funding this study ( follow the trail of the money)  I am pretty sure that you will find there is money to be made for the fundraiser with opinions like this. Kudo's to the NITWIT that thinks this way and can profit from his ignorance. I prefer to use my 10th grade education and common sense, Oil is safely stored by nature and GOD for millions of years underground only to be dug up by mankind and used to fuel our industrial and greedy society, on the other hand wood as I see it is the worlds natural filter and when burned hot and clean enough actually will clean our enviroment of some of the pollutants in our enviroment placed there by  BIG OIL :bash: :bash:
