hello everyone. I just purchased a ridgewood 7500. I positioned it roughly 120ft west of my home because that is where my wood lot is. at that distance do you think I will be smoking out my house all the time? I guess I will find out. also I will be burning two year seasoned hard woods which should help with the smoke. thank for any replies.

Gotta find where the prevailing wind blows...Then that will tell you if your house will be always smoked out....Im 90Ft back from my house..Also if your still worried about getting smoked out..You can also raise your stack up..

 A well designed furnace should produce very little smoke when burning dry wood. Normally when you see a furnace producing lots of smoke its because its not burning efficiently or it is burning green wood.

Because wind directions change so much around trees, houses or whatever, what I do when placing a conventional boiler is to drive a 10 foot stick into the ground and tie about 8 feet of flagging tape to the top of the pole, this allows you to see where the smoke will go before placing the unit.
