E2400 bypass door stiff
« on: November 25, 2013, 05:26:40 PM »

My e2400 has been running a month now. Great unit but why is my bypass door handle getting stiffer to open every day. I can't see behind the housing. Anyone have ideas?

Probably just some creosote build up.  I have a 2300 and all I do is poke the bypass from inside the firebox to open it.......

I think stiff is an overstatement. I need two hands to open it. This looks as if I will need to dismantle. Doesn't  seem right for 1 month of use. :bash:

Have you contacted Central Boiler for advise?  Knowing the E2400 is just a month old, I'd be screaming that they fix it.

Question is it difficult only when opening or closing too   If it's both ways      If you have a mirror double check to see if something didn't fall behind the flapper  piece of wood creosote etc.   i don't know how the 2400 is but I can scrape the back of mine through the top of the exchanger tube area

Miine was getting difficult on last quarter turn in closing     a little piece of wood had fallen back there when loading real full one day
