First I wanted to say thank you to Scott for all his help.  I've been reading the forum and researching for over a year and I drove over 3 hours back in the spring, past many dealers because of the support and time Scott took to answer all my question.  I would highly recommend Scott to anyone.

I have a Heatmaster 5000E and I had great success heating my pool this summer.  Used alot of wood but it beat paying for gas  :-).  Question I have is, I fired my stove up this past Saturday and its heating my house with no problems.  I have approx 3800 sq feet and I have a loop connecting both my heatpumps and hotwater heater.  I have my rear draft set on 50% and with the warm temp I have my stove set on 170 with 8 degree diff.  Last couple of nights the temp has been around 36 degrees and Im loading the stove around 9pm with 2 large logs. (hard seasoned wood) In the morning Im down to ashes.  With the mild temps I seem to be burning through wood really fast.  Should I be doing something different or is this normal.  I have plenty of wood, I just don't want to waste if Im doing something wrong.  Thanks!!

3800 SFT is quite a load for the 5,000.  How much wood do you anticipate burning?  If you have a well insulated house and we have a winter like we did last year, don't be shocked if you go through 7-10 full cords.

Its a new house, brick and was built 10 years ago and is insulated well.  I have around 9 cords of wood and plan to burn coal as well this winter.  Just wanted to check and see if I was doing anything wrong before I waste a bunch of wood.  Would you recommend changing any of my settings?  Thanks!!

36 degrees with (2) logs sounds about right.

Last year ran a Central Boiler eClassic 2400, with 7k sf (2 seperate building with in-slab radiant)  :o  22 pulp wood cord (or about 2 full semi loads, albeit the first 6 cords were punky Aspen/poopler)
***Hoping for global warming, but just a little bit; cause -40 is cold (no matter what scale you use)
