I have much better luck driving the square drive screws than either Phillips or standard and I use impact drivers on them, of course you must have the proper tip to fit the screw.

Same here, have my handy dandy 1/4" drive 18 volt DeWalt. Funny enough when I first bought it I figured it would either strip screws or bits faster from the vibration, just the opposite is true.

the "square headed screw" know here in Canada after its Canadian patent is named after the inventor Peter "Robinson"
They are the best screw on the market  I think they come in about 4 sizes (I thnk) yellow, green, red and black (listed from smallest to largest)

wood or sheet metal screws, I would not buy another type!

the true "Robertson" screws and screw drivers are slightly tapered  so as to make the screw driver easier to insert (the tip is smaller than the opening in the screw)  and this also helps keep the screw on the screw driver more snugly as well as straight in line with the blade

Are those different than the square drive we have here? I think they go by size #1, #2, #3, etc but not positive about that. I hate them and prefer philips if I have to choose between the two. Torx it far superior to either but usually cost more.

I agree completely! TORX is the way to go except on cost, square or Robertson heads are far better than the Phillips heads though and much cheaper than TORX.
