Drained Boiler
« on: September 30, 2015, 01:16:02 PM »

Drained Central Boiler 6048 for the first time after three seasons. Added new ihibitor and filled, haven't fired it up yet. Will I need to bleed any air out of the system or will it be ok?

Did you drain it at the boiler or at the lowest point?

If just at the boiler the lines should have water in them yet, if at the lowest point treat it as a new install and bleed.

I changed out the water every 3 or 4 years in my old 5648 and never needed to bleed the lines, but each installation could be different. Remember to get the pumps up and running as soon as you can and circulate the corrosion inhibitor. That fresh water is full of oxygen

Shut the return line for few seconds with pump running and if there is any air it should come out.
