I finally pulled the trigger and bought 2 year old cb 6048. We tried to dig up the logstor pipe and some of it was damaged. I ended up with @ 100 ft piece that I will attempt to use to run to my shop. It got nicked a couple times with the backhoe bucket. There is 3 or 4 spots where the outer casing is split or cracked. I will try to mend them and maybe stuff it thru a 6 inch tile. Any advice for helping seal this is welcome. I am buying new thermopex to run to the house 120ft, but I figured trying to use the old would be worth a shot since I wont have to dig up my yard if it needs to be replaced(just across a gravel driveway).
Also, I planned on waiting to get everything hooked up since warm weather is supposed to be right around the corner. After reading recent posts about an empty boiler I have become worried. The unit is still sitting on my trailer empty. I still need to pour a pad and dig trenches and all the other happy horse$h1t that is necessary. How worried should I be and how big of a hurry should I be in?
OK, last one. Indoor pex pipe, I saw some guys use regular blue and red, and saw a guy that used pexalpex and the small amount that I got with the unit has pretty thick walls, I think he said it was pexflex. Is an O2 barrier recommended? What is the preferred type of indoor pex?
Thanks and I am sure I will have many more questions. I love this site!!!
