Starting her back up
« on: April 28, 2011, 06:16:21 AM »

Unlike many of you that WANT to shutdown your OWB, I found a reason to start mine back up. The first being the fact temps are dropping again. Down to the 30's Friday night. The second is that we just had it installed and I'm still "playing". Wanted to test the DHWX some more.

I'm sure things will change after a full winter of opeation, but I'm really impressed with my unit thus far. I've only used half of the firebox and was getting at least 24 hour burn times. It really retains the heat. The water was still 122F this morning. Last burn was Monday night.

Hopefully soon the weather will reflect the calender and I can move on to cutting wood.

Well now I looked at the 10 day forecast. It justifies my restart. (we are usally 5 degrees cooler than these numbers due to our elevation) At least I won't have to stock it alot.

I still have mine cooking also.Been up in the 60's and down to the 30'40's at night.Couple of weeks ago I shut it down and left the pump on to circulate water.that lasted for about 4 days before we hit another codl wet rainy spell.
