Getting to know the basics
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:11:32 PM »

What is a good source for someone totally new to the OWB experience? Being green as grass about how and what an aquastat is for I need some serious schooling. Zone valves  with some taco pump fetching up would help as well. :-\

Probably just posting questions here is going to be the best.
An aquastat is just a thermostat that is used to control the water temperature. Are you asking about using it on the boiler or a strap on type for controlling a pump or something else?

Two separate issues really.

Design of a water based heating system.

Supplying that hot water.

The principals of the first are the same for any system. Wood based boilers vary in design and operations.
