Water Treatment
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:07:28 AM »

I have an aquatherm eco-one 345 that I have plumbed directly into a smith oil boiler in the basement.  I am looking for a water treatment for my boiler but am unsure of what to use due to the direct plumbing into the smith boiler.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you in advance for the help.

I don't think there is really that much difference between brands. They all mostly nitrite based. It usually runs about $10 per 100 gallons of water for the treatment.

Id probably call Aqua-Therm direct or contact your dealer if your really concerned...I run aqua- therm 275..6 years  this yr..Hooked directly to my oil boiler..Run the same water..Never done a treatment..Your boiler is a sealed ("closed") system just like your oil boiler... If you have a "open" wood boiler like most are..Yeah you def need to do the water treatment..
