how to best spend $5000
« on: October 04, 2012, 07:15:24 PM »

So I have 5  grand to spend on an outdoor wood boiler not including the pipe and exchangers but will get that as I go along. After all my reading I would like a gasification unit mainly for the fact I would burn less wood but they all seem out of my range. any suggestions?

The cheapest gasification on the market is an impressive unit, called an elite 100xt.  Check em out at profab.org

There $7195 with coupon.  It's hard to get a descent regular stove for 5k, much less a gasser

Well you can only do what your wallet says lol..Well If you don't live in a epa phase 2 state go for the old style boiler...Cheaper..Yeah you might burn more wood..But hey, You still get rid of the oil/propane man

Thanks Matty and scott for your quick replys...I have considerd a traditional one but  Im worried ill regret it latter. I currentlly heat with an indoor wood stove, last 3 years, so the only thing ill be saving at this point ( at least I think so) would be the amount of wood I burn...

You wont regret it..I have the old style boiler..How much wood do u burn now?..I have a wood stove in my house..I burn the same now as if i was still running my wood stove in my house and that doesnt even include hot water when running wood stove.. So 8 cord of wood plus oil for hot water with wood stove...OWB 8-9 cord, hot water no oil man..No brainer there!

you might take a look at the Hoss models by Tennessee outdoor furnace, In my opinion they  are nice units , others may disagree, kind of like buying a car everyone has their preferences , I,m not selling them but looking myself , compare apples to apples , gassification will cost a bit more
