Feeling sorry
« on: January 22, 2013, 11:08:47 AM »

Hi all, I work in an engineering school (Graduate school) at an Ivy League institution where we have contact with people from all over the world.  Tonight will possibly be the coldest weather we will experience this winter with the temps somewhere around minus 10 and a stiff north breeze of around 20MPH.  I've lived here all my life and I don't like the temps below zero with wind.  It's one thing for the temps to be below zero but quite another when it's coupled with wind.  The people I feel sorry for are those from countries where their winter temps are no lower 70 degrees F.  You can spot them easily.  Look for the pile of clothes moving down the sidewalk because you can not see a person in the pile.  When the fall temps fell to 50 degrees ABOVE zero, they couldn't believe it got so cold.  I told them to cheer up because it gets colder, much colder.  Like I said, I feel sorry for them.  They think I'm crazy to be walking around the building in a short sleeved shirt.  Stay warm everyone.  Roger
