Here is a question for you guys who use Logstor,  I am thinking of moving my boiler closer to the shop so I can heat both the house and shop with it. I will have to go under the paved road, should I put the Logstor in a 8" steel pipe? it should be four or five feet down.

 I think I would put it in PVC, just for physical protection under the drive.

I would use a PVC type material but if the steel is cheaper, run it. Why do you have to move it closer to heat the shop? Is this a private road? Depth doesn't matter unless its public right of way. Then its 36" with posting

Its a public way, if I go from the boiler to shop where it sits I would be 350 to 400 ft.Plus it will be easier to get too instead of walking around the house. Boiler to house 150 ft max. Boiler to shop 100 ft max.

I would put it in either pvc or steel whichever ones cheaper.
