I have been looking at replacing our "ancient of days" indoor wood burner for about a year and a half with an OWB and have done much reading, researching, and learning in that time.  Now my hand has been forced by a house fire due to the blower motor shorting out, arching to the nearby dryer vent, and toasting our dryer.  Caused a lot of smoke damage in the house but the insurance company has been great....Repainted the whole interior, cleaned everything in the house, put us up in a rental through the process, etc.

In the past, I've looked at Hawkens, CB, Heatmor.  Was pretty much ready to pull the trigger on the Heatmor until I decided to take another look at P&M.  Was never settled with the all SS construction of the Heatmor.  I was really impressed with the BL series construction and figured hey, it's built in Canada.  Surely those guys know how to keep warm and have it down to a science.  lol  I spoke with Robert up there for about an hour and he was very helpful.  I'm now sold on the P&M BL 28-40 (heating 3200 sqft with about 110,000 btu load and dhw) and looking to put down a deposit next week.

I have a few questions......

- Is there a dealer any where near NW Arkansas?

- I know there is a lot of debate on this (I've read the various threads on here), but is 5 wrap underground truely as efficient as foam wrap?  We have a lot of rocks here (our garden grows more rocks than beans), so my plan is to sleeve my 100' of line with 8" sch 40 and possibly surround it with 6" or so of fine grit.  Any input would be welcomed.

- Would a 20 plate heat exchanger be sufficient for my demand?  We have 6 kids, so adequate hot water would be a nice feature.

I would like it far better if you would take the advise of most folks on here and go with the good pipe(Logstor) We do sell it and it can be shipped with the stove or you can buy it from a local supplier if you choose but good pipe is key and I don't consider drain tile as good pipe, Your choice but it could be very costly if groundwater gets to the foil/bubble wrap. I have never had a failure with Logstor. Don't hesitate to call, I will PM you my #.

A 20 plate plumbed in before your water heater well suffice for 6 people. I filled a 400 gallon hot tub with 110° water with this setup. You won't run out of hot water.
