Hi,

I was reading the manual for my new P&M BL3444 and see multiple mentions of grounding the furnace to help avoid corrosion. I cant find in the manual a specific place to ground the unit and was hoping someone here would be able to help me out with where to ground it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I don't bother grounding the boiler itself, it is grounded through the electrical line but if you choose to use a seperate ground then I would drill a hole in any leg to attach a grounding cable.

  There is a ground lug in the rear of the stove very close to the right side return fitting. Just look along the seam where the tank and firebox are bolted together. I used a 4 foot ground bar and #6 copper wire. Overkill - maybe but I feel better that it's there.

Crow, is the bolt your referring to the stainless steal bolt furthest to the right basically the corner on the seam?

You could use a water pipe grounding clamp.  I installed one on the 3/4" boiler drain pipe in the center of my 250.

 On my 2840 it is the second from the right. It came with a nut and washer already on it. There may be a difference between models and build dates??

Thanks again for the information. I will look around some more but I think if needed I can use the one I found on the corner I may just have to get my own additional nut and washer.
