Don't forget to shut the ash pan door!!
« on: October 03, 2010, 07:07:38 PM »

Pulled a good one, part of the Learning curve I suppose!  Left my ash pan door cracked and the water temp went well over 200 by the time I noticed!  Had to add some water back and now were back down to 150-155 where I like it.

Who else has done this!?

would have heart failure if i did that, worry to much, was reading about people who claim you need to run your pump year round to prevent rust from something called pockets, any thoughts on this, and do any of you run your pump year round?

I don't run the pump year round, but I do start the pump several times during the off season and let it run for several hours.

I don't have a ash door. But I did forget to turn the fan back on after loading the stove woke up for work and went out to the stove and saw the temp. was 90 and it was set for 165 opened the door and it was full of wood. After a few minutes I checked the switch and said dumb a$$. :bash:
