Husky and Jonsered are pretty much the same saw both owned by Electrolux I believe.

You are correct.  If you tear down the Jonsered saw, you'll probably find parts inside labeled as Husqvarna and some of them might even be orange.

I can't stress enough that no matter what brand saw you buy, buy the PROFESSIONAL version.  It's worth the premium to buy a saw made to be used and abused day in and day out, thrown on the ground, started and run for 8+ hours a day, dropped from a tree, rolled over by logs, etc.  There's a huge difference in quality and longevity between a homeowner version and a professional version and it's never more evident than in the Stihl and Husqvarna saws since their name is so popular and sold in box stores now too.  I've been professionally cutting trees for 16 years now and we've used them all, but we keep coming back to buying the Husqvarna XP saws because they have unbelievable torque and chain speed compared to the others.  For a limbing saw, I like the 346XP and for a log saw I like the 371XP.

For those of you having problems with the motors on ANY brand of chainsaw, I offer this advice:

Absolutely do not judge a 2-stroke engine on any saw until you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you are using fuel that contains NO ETHANOL!

When in doubt, "spring" for a bottle of "pure gasoline/2-cycle oil mix" made by most manufacturers these days.  If this "solves" your saw's motor issues, re-assess the saw before claiming it is a POS.

2-cycle engines simply do not operate well with ethanol-containing fuel (especially if the fuel is over 5 days old; ethanol absorbs water into the fuel from the ambient relative humidity!).

I've taken this saw on 3 clearing jobs and still have not put gas in it lol. I have a can of jonsered fuel for it and plan on running racing fuel in it. The racing fuel is high octane but more importantly it's 0 ethanol.

Yeah racing fuel is like $6 a gallon but a gallon of fuel in a chain saw is a good bit of cutting. Worth it to me.

Ok, I used it today. This is a solid saw! It did everything I asked of it today without a whimper. I cut cross and along grain and it never offered to give up. Solid saw for the money. Makes the 455 rancher I use a work seem like a limbing saw.
