I have been having problems with my fire box door sticking from the creosote buildup, and my little scraper just wasn't doing the trick.  So, last night when I got home I started to scrape the buildup by hand and wasn't getting hardly anywhere with it.  I figured that there had to be an easier way to clean this stuff.  So, I headed for the shop.  Right when I walked in I noticed my drill sitting there. So, I threw in one of these wire wheels and went to town on the stove.  After about two minutes I had all of the creosote off of the area that the fire rope touches.  Works much better now!

Ive had a problem in the past with the door sticking from the creosote..In fact had to replace the door gasket...I don't know how you fill your boiler and if your wood is wet,green or dry..Being a crazy winter temp wise..What Ive found is gotta burn dry wood and don't stuff the boiler with warm temps.. Plus stuffing it in warm temps is a waste of wood.... I haven't had a problem in the past few yrs...Yeah Im sure the wire wheel def cleans it..But theres no reason to be doing that...

Yea my gasket will probably need to be replaced soon.  The weather here has been crazy too.  It's supposed to get to 50 here today and stay in the upper 40's durring the day for the entire 10 day forcast.  I think if I had my shop hooked up to my stove it would have to work harder but right now I'm only heating 1500 sq ft with no dhw.  The stove doesn't really seem to get a workout.

Yeah heating your hot water will help make it run more and def your shop..Yeah I don't think it hit 50F here today..But def the high 40's..Right now 44F (4pm) and no snow on the ground..Usually have 2 feet plus of snow..
