New member this is a great site. Have a question on the bolier I am building. It is like the shaver unit. How far back does the hole for the flue pipe need to be from the back? And how far down into the burn chamber doe the pipe need to go? Mine has been thirty six inch pipe inside of a forty eight inch pipe. Hope to post photo soon.

well you'll get alot of different answers here, my homeade's flu is about 10-12'' from back wall and extends 3/4 in 3' round firebox.one thing i have noticed when when hot coals build up it creates a gasifier effect as smoke gets pushed thru coals on the way out of chimney.
