Wood chip boiler in Florida
« on: January 17, 2014, 05:34:23 PM »

Can you believe it, I just got back to my mother in laws place in central Florida on vacation, Brian asked me to visit one of our new chip boiler sales here in central Florida to guide them on the install, it appears that I will be coming back for the install, you gotta love it, last Feb I was in Edmunton Alberta Canada for the same reason at 40 degrees below zero and this year it will be central Fla at 70 plus, what a way to make a living. I LOVE IT!

Oh before I forget slim, sen Doug Thomas was in to see me at work today. He mentioned some concerning things about changes that the EPA is proposing. Even the possibility of totally making phase 2 Certs. Obsolete...scary stuff...I feel like my wood boiler rights are beginning to be treated like my right to bear arms...

Funny thing about Florida, I'm an "up north" guy but my parents lived near Tampa for 27 years, I traveled there many many times and usually during the winter, when they say it is 50 down there and you come down from say -10 F a person thinks that 50 or 55 would sound really quite nice but that damp air in Fl feels really chilly at 50 and I can see where someone could benefit from an OWB, but to run it all year Matty? That sounds like it would be unnecessary, a solar setup for DHW would seem like it would work fantastic there for 3/4 of the year at least.

The guy doesn't have a OWB..He has a wood stove and runs it all winter long..Its just funny hearing that someone in FL burns wood for heat..
