 The new style Heat Master G models have a exhaust fan bypass that you open when you open the door. Pulls all the smoke out the back of the firebox while you are loading.

If there are no laws there at ur place about EPA and phase 2  By all means look at the Poratgeandmain,,,BL series,,,people actually say they do Gasify,,,,and are not designed to gasify....,,no maintenance on them at all......

I think a lot of OWB's are like that. When the fan is running on mine, I can only see heat waves coming from the stack. The only time it smokes is when it's 'idling' or when I first fill it with a fresh load of wood.

 Hawkin uses an exhaust fan? I did not realize that, the last ones I had seen still had the fan on the door.
