Where would you mount it and it not get smoked up Matty, I personally would like to see one in the rear cabinet of our 250 but the factory thinks that the outlet allows for the home owner to place a light wherever they like.

If you want lots of light just put a 4x4 in the ground as a pedestal and put a dual bulb light on it one shining towards the firebox and one towards the wood pile.

Nice touch but when you build them for production, you probably just added $500 dollars to the cost, to the consumer for that added convenience and it's only good in the cabinet, a nice monogrammed headlamp would promote our product as well as keep you from falling on your butt in the dark/ allow you to see in the firebox when the fire is out and crawl under your pickup truck to change the oil, all strapped to your head and keeping the long hair out of your eyes, see what I'm thinking!

I highly doubt its $500 more considering it would be mass produced.. yeah the head lamp works for sure..But the light bulb clearly wins

OK maybe $500 is a stretch but it does add cost, think of it this way, there is already a duplex plug in the back of the boiler, if we put a light in there, not only does it take material and labor but also would need to have it UL and CSA approved for wet areas, that is all an extra expense that the customer eventually pays for! if the customer puts a light in there and plugs it in, everybody is happy! A monogrammed headlamp is a small enough investment that it could be a give away product in exchange for a deposit at shows, this would give us almost free advertisement as well, I'm going to have a chat with the powers to be!

MattyNH - There's a duplex outlet in the rear of my Central Boiler E-Classic 1400; my pump is plugged into it.  When I thoroughly clean it for the summer I plug an extension cord into it with a 2 outlet end on it so I can plug my small air compressor and drop light into it.  The drop light is for when I'm scraping the firebox.  I feed it through the chimney clean out door and I let it hang in the firebox so I can see what I'm doing.  It's very handy.  I don't know about the other models.  Roger
