Got my hands on some huge pieces of coal
« on: November 02, 2014, 08:24:04 AM »

As you can see in the pic, they are big.  Anyone have any advice on how big of pieces I should break them into?  I have never burned coal before and want to use this on bitter cold days mixed with some wood.  They are heavy!  I hope a sledgehammer will bust em into decent sized pieces.  Anyone?   :)

Out of curiosity, why not leave it out in the sun?

de grades ...it turns tan/looses "power" so to say  ...those pics above  look like it got some sun... that's the word from my dealer ...then agin we have sun 24hrs a day..... here is some good info  http://www.city-data.com/forum/house/534363-keeping-coal-burning-coal-stove.html     I would be more worried about "cold coal"  and the sweating...
