sidearm troubles
« on: November 14, 2014, 10:08:43 AM »

Hi I just got my new stove up and running a week ago, But can't get the DHW sidearm to work. what are the does and don'ts of a sidearm?  Here is a pic of my sidearm install.

It is plumbed into the cold on top of the water heater about 7" above the top and to the drain on the bottom.

Thanks

Try to bring the top of your sidearm as close to the top of the water heater as possible.  Also if possible T into the pressure relief valve instead of the cold line.  I have a picture of how I installed mine but it says the file is too big.  If you PM me your email I can send it to you.

I am no expert but the tee out of the top seems high, for a syphon to work effectively. I put a very low power 1/40 th hp bronze circ on that tee portion to constantly move the water through the sidearm ( flow top to bottom. )
