Frozen
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:38:25 AM »

It has been -20 out this winter, but this morning I woke up to frozen pipes( 1 zone) and it was only -2.
Insulatinging them was on my list too do, now it's at the top once thawed.

Ayuh,....   Boy that sucks,....    I'm hopin' it gets up to 0° today,....

No frozen pipes, but I'm gettin' tired of chunkin' wood in the boiler every 6 to 8 hours,...

If it'll just get back up to the high teens or 20°, I'll be back to once or twice a day loadings,...

No idea, one of those weird weather mysteries, we are up to ZERO right now. Might be a cool night.

You talking the underground pex pipes to the boiler or pipes in your house?

It was a zone that is in the house, about 5 ft of pex exposed in the woodshed, boiler didn't drop any.

so that zone wasn't calling for heat and therefore had no water circulating through it?

I don't see any air leaks at the front door.  I'm watching the water level... Its hard to determine water level as water expands.  Getting the boiler to temp 190 and see how much water I have in the sight glass.  My guess the way I loaded the wood caused a quick burn.
