How does your boiler perform in heavy Rain?
« on: March 30, 2015, 11:49:59 PM »

Getting heavy rain tonight, temps in the low 40's.  I have lots of steam rolling off, I'm surprised on well its keeping temp.  For the outside temperature tho I can tell the rain is effecting the boiler temp a bit.

Rain has no effect on my boiler either. Where is the steam coming from? Other than the flu and the door frame there shouldn't be anything hot on the outside.

Ayuh,....    Rain don't effect mine, at All,.....

Rain wet wood steams off quicker than snow covered, iced up wood,....

Still don't effect the boiler, low temp draft opens at 160°, 'n closes at 180°,.....

Steam comes from the chimney.  Usually dont have a issue unless its a down poor.  I'm usually able to maintain temp just seems to cycle quicker
