Sounds like they should have had em all sand or bead blasted before starting to assemble the firebox. ButÖ.I have a five hundred gallon LP tank I use for waste oil storage, I still havenít got all the paint off with a big right angle grinder and a knotted wire brush, hard to believe itíd come off on its own, but some paint canít take emersion either.

Probably was painted by home owner maybe at one point in time
