Has anyone interfaced a heat exchanger from a hydronic system into a clothes dryer?

I set up a couple thermocouples to do some testing on Delta T measurement.

Central Boiler / M250
« on: November 18, 2016, 08:08:10 AM »
Got a pretty decent deal on a new M250. Installed and ran a week on wood pellets, now I have a 50/50 mix of corn 14-14.3% moisture, and wood pellets. Seems to be humming along quite nicely!
I have a 200 bushel bulk bin and auger system on order, and will be installing that soon. I have been working on an Arduino based controller/monitor for the bulk bin feeding into the M250 hopper. I will also be monitoring the status of the furnace, things such as feed auger, blower motor, water temps, burn chamber temp, snap disk status, ect.
Picture of the controller under construction:

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Manifold Calculator
« on: September 27, 2015, 06:05:05 AM »
Hey, been some time since I posted!
I've been doing some work on hydronics lately and I created a handy manifold calculator that may come in handy if you are looking for flow and Btu numbers from your loops. This worksheet is based off a constant pressure scenario, a pump such as Grundfos Alpha, running in a constant head setting is how it works. There are two tabs on the worksheet, one for 1" supply&return ports x 5/8" zone ports, and one for 3/4" supply & return ports x 1/2" zone ports.
The blue cells are manual entry of variables, all the white cells are calculated. What variables you will need to make full calculations:

- Distance of header pipe
- Delta T, intended temperature drop of system
- Percent of water vs antifreeze, (I used methanol for the built in specific heat calculations)
- Head pressure maintained by circulator.
- Distance of pipe for each of the zones/loops.
- Optional: manual entry of resistance for balancing each of the zones/loops.
