Just figured I would ask.
-
Even if everybody did, what difference would it make? :bash: Last year I ran 170-155 but after reading some of the recent comments on here I will be running 175-160 this year. >:D
Its your stove run what is best for you and let it go already.

No way mine is set at 180 to 185

Do we really need another post about this?! It has been discussed to death on here
There is even polls about it

I know I know
I know heatmaster spends very little thought on this, and shoot, they've had some great results even with customers doing everything your not supposed to. But when there getting further involved in gassers n such, I think that's when the learning curve will bend sharply.. Empyre, cb, p and m, none of these other top dogs saw this or truly understood how this was happening until they started building more gassers...
The environment in a gasser is far harsher, but that don't mean that it can't affect conventional stoves either, I've seen it first hand and there is one here in ky now that dies from this in just 3 years. Soo, there is def a science to it, although I will agree that heatmaster sure hasn't seemed to be bitten by this bug yet, perhaps the extra corrosion resistance of the stainless is keeping it at bay....

Scott, I think some bad stoves are built on a Monday and the good ones on fridays. Way to many people I know 10 plus years running less than 180.
-
Hey Scott what do you think, I'm starting to think that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. For those who choose to save wood by running the unit cold someday we will be saying we told you so, 10 year old units are not gassers and with the development of those units the industry has learned a great deal, we are simply attempting to give some FREE advise, your choice' use it or not, it will not affect me either way.

Mines conventional but I'm not running my stove below 170.
I may use more wood but that's the cheapest part to our stoves.

Yes Slim, it kinda makes my blood boil to have someone ask you 100 questions through pm, then you willfully answer them all, then each time they turn and try to find some way to prove you wrong.
I am not selling firewood, and if someone is goofy enough to think that's what it's all about?! Why would I lie about it, there is absolutely nothing to gain from sharing what we've experienced on this forum, however it does make it aggravating and takes time away from which we could be helping someone with a "real issue" to beat a dead horse :bash:
Ok I get it, now only good stoves are built Tuesday thru Thursday, right that's it, why didn't we just look t our serial numbers and see all our failures were built on Monday and Friday, darn us... We are so incapable :bash:
Sooo.... Because this stove was built on a Monday, the worker was to lazy to rub his magic fairy dust on the steel to prevent corrosion right?!
The stoves that have this issue don't fail because of a leaky weld or anything craftsmanship related to a worker, they fail due to corrosion!!!!!!!!
:bash: :bash:

I've been reading this forum about six months now and two names really stand out, Scott and Victor. One has great advise and is a lot of help.... and the other one needs help! ;)

Have you become content with your burn rite yet Vic? I know there for a while one day you'd bash ridgewood and the next day you'd say you'd wished you had bought one.
I would think burn rite is a good stove though, at least from what I've seen
