Heatmor / pex/pumps sizes
« on: July 27, 2015, 08:43:39 AM »
what size pex are u guys/gals running with your Heatmors???? 1" or 1 1/4"?????  I currently have all 1" lines installed for house loop and shop loop. B&G NRF-36 for the house loop and B&G NRF-22 for the short shop loop. Im hoping that this is adequate....one of the dealers i spoke to kept trying to sell my on the 1 1/4...he went as far as to try and convince me that i should rip all my previously installed 1" lines because the boiler calls for 1 1/4"...I hope i will be ok!!! to much work to redo, at least for this year!

Any info or insight would be great....i would like to know what size lines or pumps you guys are currently using?????

I have just ordered the boiler and is being shipped via freight to my house. I cant measure the boiler myself until it gets here. I have already layed a new pad off the specifications from the older model 400's, which i found via the manual on the heatmor site.....two dealers are telling me two different things now....I will make it work regardless, just seeing if anyone on here had a direct answer.

thanks!

« on: July 23, 2015, 05:54:52 AM »
Hey guys, I have just placed an order for a new 400CB.....I have talked to two different dealers whom have told me two different things regarding the pad size....my local dealer told me that the pad specs are the same as the older models and the dealer from whom i bought my stove told me that the pad dimensions have changed and require a bigger pad.....I JUST WANT A STRAIGHT ANSWER!!! lol    My pad is 55 x 86.  I hope that this is fine....ANY OWNERS OUT THERE THAT CAN CONFIRM PAD SIZE FOR ME????

Thanks!

RidgeWood Stoves, defunct, support only / Re: Forced Air Option
« on: March 03, 2015, 11:00:05 AM »
i ordered a 75cfm blower with damper solenoid kit offline and made makde it myself as well.....it did burn much hotter and the ability to burn green wood was there, but i noticed the same thing...stack temps were insane...also i noticed it didnt burn evenly. with most door mounted fan units there is a baffle on the inside of the door that directs air flow evenly over the bottome of the fire and ususally has a one port directing air to the top of the fire, some like the old wood doctors for example....but, with these units being originally set up for natural draft, they dont have any fort of baffle system, just a str8 pipe right one the fire.

that "black water" is just water from the wood you are burning. When i burn greener wood that happens...

I am thinking of Adding Firebrick to the bottom and partial sides of my traditional boiler as well.

I like my timberwolf. No issues with it other than its not to efficient.  Looses lots of heat out the stack and the door. Might jist do some modifications on this one this spring and see if I cant fix some of the issues myself. Ridgewood does make a quality stove. Ive seen quite a few in operation.  Very similar to my T-Wolf. Im a fan of forced air tho, the natural draft is nicemost of th year, but I dont get complete burns and when it gets real cold I jist end up with 3/4 of my forebox filled woth coals that have an inch of ashes on top.

Country Boy, i have looked into the Heatmor 200 as an option. I was something that burns like a blacksmith forge. From underneath. I have a natural draft unit and they are good for the most part, but when u get into arctic conditions is when you really start to see the differences IMO. Stainless scares me a bit, but i know heatmor has a pretty good reputation, and i have seen some stoves in use for 15-20yrs.

I am going to be heating house, dog kennel facility and DHW...will total right about 4100-4200 sqft.

open to all options.

Im looking for a new unit for the Spring. Not a gasser.
WHAT IS THE BEST PRODUCT OUT THERE RATED FOR 5,000 sqft??? WHo has the best "bang for your buck?"

THANKS IN ADVANCE

That one year old one is pretty close to half price.

yeah, it is a good deal. Guy is tryong to play hard nose now at 5,500. I offered him 4500 cash and he didnt want to take it. Brand New they are 7800. if i could get it for 4500 it would be a sweet deal still. But at 5500, id almost just rather pay full price and be the single owner. No matter how good  a used stove looks, there is always that fear of what they might have done, or not done to it. At least that is just me.

my firebox is only 42 inches long. i think the 400 has a 52inc long firebox??? i dunno, i know he could load more than me...but we both only flll about 1/3-1/2 load...i seem to get better efficency when not stuffing it to the gills
