Indoor vs outdoor woodburning
« on: July 22, 2011, 06:25:44 AM »

Now that we have a OWB and are empty nesters, we decided to start renovating the house. Nothing fancy, just a fresh coat of paint, carpet cleaning and new wall plates. It was actually the removal of the wallplates that showed the amount of dirt that has accumulated over the years from having a indoor woodburner.

Looking forward to a cleaner and heathier lifestyle.

I got the OWB because my DW just couldn't take the smell of wood burning in the house anymore. I am now thinking of putting the old woodstove in an out building on the farm so the dog and me can go in wet and dirty and play with the fire and relax without worrying about muddy feet, sort of my MAN CAVE.

Gary-
How are you liking your Portage and Main so far? They sure look like a well built piece. Is your wood consumption around what you thought it might be? Any issues with it at all yet?
The reason I'm asking is these questions is because myself and two of my friends ordered three of them last week. They are the Optimiser 250's. We'll be wiring more then 30 grand in the next few days to Canada, so we're hoping they are deserving of the hype they've received in the past few years.
Ever try convincing your wife that you need a fourth OWB setting in your yard? Not an easy task! I have a sneaking suspicion she'll be getting an updated kitchen before too long!
