So, Ive been told NOT to use single wall pipe to extend my chimney (already did) the creostoe will eat up the metal on and in the stove.   Any thoughts on this?   Should I go out and spend a bunch on 6' of double wall?

dont think that will last very long outside on a wood furnace,what model do you have and how much do you need to extend.

It's on a Hawken furnace  5-6 foot.    I am getting quite a bit of creosote i guess!

none insulated outside condensates like a river, i would get some insulated and be done with it.

first year I extended my stack 14ft  with reg wood stove pipe..at the end of the  heating season the  top half of the pipe was plugged  up and the bottom of the pipe was burnt up....Dont get me wrong it def works..Its just every yr id be spending the money for wood stove pipe.. Finally spent the money bought "Supervent" at Lowe's ..18 ft up..never a problem..
