Propane company called....
« on: November 26, 2011, 01:53:39 AM »

Well propane company called and asked if I was ready for delivery. I chuckled and told them I still had 5 percent left and that was only down from 10% last December when I fired my OWB. The man on the other end didn't find the humor in it as I did, and mentioned I was gonna get a rental charge for lack of use. Long story short he sold me a 250gal. Tank. with 50gals in it, i told him i had hoped to not have to talk to him till 2013 or maybe even 14. Boy do I sure like burning wood.

I own a 500 gal tank and had negotiated a deal with a one year payback on a 350 gallon tank.  They never got around to reconditioning the 350 and I asked for 3 months about getting it.  With 850 gallons (actually 80%) I could get thru the winter with one purchase at the fall price.  With only 400 gallons I was stuck getting half a tank in Feb at $4/gal.  That was the year before the OWB,  now the propane only heats hot water (sometimes) and may run the gas fireplace ... for pretty.  700 gallons/year at $3.50 per gallon and a colder house.  And I was still doing a lot of wood work for the insert in the basement that only held 18" split wood.

The basement was like a sauna and the propane company was hapier :-)

They haven't called me in a year about a propane delivery or that tank they promised.
